Weather / Mechanical Failure Policy
Your child's safety is always our first concern and sometimes that means closing the facilities due to dangerous weather circumstances. It is our goal to be open, however, if weather changes create dangerous circumstances, the preschool will close or be cancelled until weather conditions are again safe for parents and children. If mechanical failure should occur within the building, such as heating or cooling failure, creating circumstances that may endanger the safety of the children, the preschool will close or be cancelled until those conditions have been corrected.
If weather changes or mechanical failure create unsafe conditions which require the preschool to close, communication about the preschool closing will be provided in the following ways. Please keep your emergency contact phone numbers current with the preschool.
Preschool in session – closing to occur during the day
Parents or contact person(s) will be called by phone by preschool staff
Preschool not in session – closing to occur next Preschool day
• Call Preschool Phone Message – 918-747-2440
• Check TV Stations – Channel 6 or 8

Severe Weather / Tornado Warning – Preschool in session
Preschool management will determine if it is advisable to dismiss preschool due to severe weather and call parents as follows:
• if advisable for parents to come to the preschool – parents / contact person(s) will be called to pick up child(ren)
• if not advisable for parents to come to the preschool due to weather danger, children will be secured in appropriate places within the church building. When the danger has passed, the daily preschool routine will continue.
Extreme Hot / Cold or Inclement Weather
The children are provided the opportunity to play outside when weather permits. When the weather is inappropriate for children to play outside, opportunity for physical activities are provided in the Family Life Center (Gym), in the lunch area or classroom.
